You already know something needs to change. So why is it so hard to do anything about it?

Let me ask you something.

When was the last time you felt genuinely, properly good...actually energised, clear and like yourself?

If that question took a while to answer, this one's for you!

This month I've been talking a lot about the journey back to yourself, what it means to give yourself permission to feel good, what it actually looks and feels like on the other side, and why small consistent steps matter so much more than dramatic overhauls.

Today I want to bring it all together, because I think there's one thing that keeps more people stuck than anything else…

The gap between knowing and doing

Most of us already know, on some level, what we need. More rest. More joy. More of the things that actually fill us up. We know we've been running on empty for too long and we know something needs to change.

And yet...knowing isn't enough. If it were, we'd all be living exactly the life we want, right?

The gap between knowing and doing exists because change without structure, accountability and support is genuinely hard to sustain. Our brains default back to familiar patterns, life gets busy, the moment passes and we tell ourselves we'll start again on Monday...after the summer or once things calm down.

So what we're seeing here is a support problem rather than a willpower problem...and that's such an important distinction to make.

You don't have to earn the right to feel good

One of the things I come back to again and again, both in my own life and with every client I work with, is this:

You do not have to earn the right to feel good.

That quiet longing you feel for more energy, more joy, more of a sense that your life actually belongs to you...that isn't you being ungrateful or unrealistic. In fact, it's an essential part of a balanced life...how are we supposed to show up for ourselves or others if we haven't filled our own cup first?

What getting your spark back actually looks like

I want to paint a picture for you: Imagine waking up without that heavy weight of dread. Having enough energy to be genuinely present with the people you love, with your work, with yourself. Making decisions from clarity rather than exhaustion. Feeling, for the first time in a while, like you're actually moving towards something rather than just getting through the week.

Where to start

Real, lasting change doesn't happen in dramatic overhauls...it happens in small, consistent steps that compound over time into something genuinely transformational.

One boundary. One moment of choosing yourself. Ten minutes outside.

Done consistently and with intention, these things add up to an entirely different life.

So here's your starting point. Finish these sentences honestly, without overthinking them:

  • When I feel most like myself, I am…

  • The thing I keep putting off that I know would make me feel better is…

  • If I closed the gap between knowing and doing, my life would look like…

READY TO TAKE THE FIRST STEP?

If something in this post has resonated and you're feeling a pull towards something new, a discovery call is a great place to start.

It's free, relaxed and will help you to start to untangle your thoughts and see the path ahead more clearly.
